Where is Airplay on my Ipad2?

my ipad2 is not showing Airplay" how do i get it loaded to use AppleTV?

iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1

AirPlay is not an app you download to your iPad. It's a service that some apps take advantage of. Apple apps such as Music, Videos, etc, are a good example. Those that do support it, show the AirPlay icon.

interesting. i was told that whatever i had on my Ipad could be mirrored to the tv via appletv. so now i am confused on how to get the ipad to the appletv.
