You can purchase GPS apps, such as TomTom, but you'd need to have a 3G version of iPad or if you have the Wifi only version, you'd need to have a mifi, or tether an iPhone to keep a signal when driving.

Wifi only iPads do not have gps, so it would be useless to try to use them for navigation.
The maps app is provided by the increasingly evil Google.
They do not provide ios version of google maps with voice directions.
Search app store.
I bought copilot, was cheapest and provides voice.
Johnathan, if the OP powered a 3G signal to and iPad via a tethered iPhone or a Mifi, and they purchased a GPS App such as Tom Tom, wouldn't it work? Of course if they had an iPhone, they wouldn't need to try using an iPad.....
Would not work.
None of the devices is linking to the satellites to provided a location.
I think, like 90% sure, possibly 90.06% but I hesitate to be overly confident.
You're probably right. At least I got the first part right, but telling the OP he needed a 3G iPad.......
