If u facing this problem again, then u try to enable / on your 3G mobile data & try to make calls & sms to see whether it works or not. Because it is immediately worked for me!!

After enabled it, U can also try to off the 3G mobile data back to previous condition & try to make calls & sms to see whether it works or not. It also worked for me!!

Do try this method & update us.

Thanks!

Hello!

Im on my 10 dsys after I do the DFU mode.

On my 7th days, ive encounter again the stock mode on "call ending" once. I thought it will continue to hang but Then i restart again, and it back to normal.

Then its ok again until now. Im still on observation and still hoping that it will be ok and will be back to mormal. :(

I will definitely let you know if this solve my problem.. :)

Cheng tat, just want to ask, when you encounter that problem, do you just turn it off and on and it will work again or just hang up even when you turn it on?

Because, for me, when that thing happens, theres nothing i can do but to restore thru itunes, because even i turn it on, its still hang. But as ive mention above, it happens again only once after i switch to DFU mode, then i turn it off then on and its turns ok now. Thats ok, but im hoping it will not happen again, because that is my last solution, huhuhu...

Hi, before this, even when i restart, it still hanged. Then I will try "reset all settings". If still can't, then I will do DFU mode restoration. Then it will back to normal. But eventually, it will still happened again randomly & don't know when!!

So, your case, to me, even u had done the restoration thru DFU mode, if it still happened, then it means it doesn't solve your problem which same with me.

No worry, this is not the last solution for u, as I mentioned, now I got two solutions, one is temporarily using method of turning on & off the 3G mobile data which worked for me but also cost me money & we have to thank to Apple??!!

Secondly, we have to wait for the releasing of IOS 5.1 which should be released recently (Hopefully!!). But not sure can solve our problems or not??!!

Update us your situation. Thanks!!

Oh! You mean you have already done using DFU mode? And still happening the problem? Oh my!!

When turning the 3g on, do i have to use it for a while then turning it off again?

The problem is, i already deactivate my 3G signal with my carrier. Because, when im in hongkong and use the roaming 3g... Because there is no free wi-fi in our hotel, i thought i can save bigger when i use internet thru 3G, but when the bills come out, i almost fainted! I pay almost $500 for only 1 hour to be exact!!!!! Just for the use of internet, which im just using when im checking my email., so then, i asked them to deactivate my 3g so i cant use it again! Lol!

So just want to ask, that if i use to turn it on and off the 3G, do i have to use it or just turn it on and off only? :)

Yes, same prob with DFU mode.

U no need to use 3G, just simply on & off it will do. Do try this method.

Use wifi always cheaper than roaming. U can continue subscribe to 3G but off your data roaming setting.

No matter how, IOS 5.1 already released today!! U can update it & see how. Most of the people said it solved the prob but a small no said did not solve it. I will only update it tonite. Do update each other after tried. ; )

Better u update thru phone itself, it's faster & easier. I had updated thru my phone itself, no prob. but before that, u better backup using icloud & itunes also, for safety purpose & also plug ur phone into power source to prevent battery empty in the process of updating.

Actually IOS 5.1 helps us thru adding another setting option of enabling the 3G if u notice it. It'll automatically on everytime we restart our phone. But u can off it then, it's ok. So, it proved our method previously of on & off the mobile data to enable the 3G!! The error / bug is there!! Do try this method!!

Good luck!! ; )

Hello!!! Ive already update thru my phone, it update succesfully, but i did not encounter the automatic cellular network on, still in off mode, even when i restart still on off mode., do ive done it right? When im updating i switch to flight mode, because i dont want to interrupt my updating by someone who will text or call. Is that ok?? Anyway, since ive done the DFU mode, my problem does not bother anymore, i guess it helps a lot.. Its been 2 weeks since ive done the DFU mode, but it happens only once,. I hope this will continue... :)

U've done it right & ok. But for the time being, IOS 5.1 will actually solve our problem because u still got prob even using DFU mode. It should not be happen again even one time if everything are ok.

By the way, whenever I restart my phone, and as long as I did not on my mobile data setting, it's also always in off mode for my phone. But after upgrading to IOS 5.1, my phone got another new setting called "Enable 3G" for me to on/off it. It will always on whenever I restart my phone. Do u have this new "Enable 3G" setting after upgrading?

Mar 12, 2012 6:18 AM in response to quitin

Hope so. Yes, I refer to that. So u mean u already have this 'enable 3G' setting in your IOS 4 instead of IOS 5.0.1 when u just bought it? But are u very sure that u already have this 'enable 3G' setting even after u upgraded to IOS 5.0.1?

Because I'm very sure I don't hv this setting when I bought it on 5 Jan 12 with IOS 5.0.1. I just recently have this setting after I upgraded to IOS 5.1.
