I just came here to post with the same thing - I feel like I am following you on the complaint trail following last night's "maintenance". The same thing is happening to me and I do not ever subscribe to the email notifications and have had that turned off in my preferences for months now.

If we cannot turn that off - this will really bite. I'm hoping that it can be fixed here by the mods or the site engineers. Help - please?

Ditto here too. Every time they take these discussions down for "maintenance" to "improve" them it get a little worse. We now all the carp at the start of a community too (categories and tags). They should not be sending emails without an explict preference giving them permission to do so.

Apple needs to apply a little adult supervision to the authors of the forum software. It's so 1960's to have regression problems every new maintenance release. It's hard to believe that Apple is promoting cloud based solutions when they cannot get a standard piece of cloud software to work.

Hire some contractors to write a comprehensive and automated test suite. Run the suite.

As a work-around, set your apple email address to some id you never look at. I know if you have your id for use in itunes your out of luck. Fortunately, I do not.

Same here, either they turned off the point emails, or they are extremely far behind...but my in-box is not clogging up now 🙂

It appears to have - I also haven't received any emails today, nor yesterday evening. Whether it's a permanent 'off' I don't know

It seems as though the email notifications have ceased. Have not received one today at all. I did get one early last evening, but none since.

I was going to say that but just a couple of days ago I got one so I am not sure. There doesn't seem to be any reasoning behind when they show up and when they don't.

So did I a couple of days ago, but this appears to have stopped overnight. We shall see .....

For me I have only been getting them a couple of times per week except when it first started. At that time I got a bunch.
