i dropped my ipod touch 4g(black) on the floor at chipotles(concrete) freaking out!!

ok so i dropped my ipod on concrete and now there is a dent beside the screen on the lower sound button when i use my ipod it has this huge black speckly blob by the dent and everything is extremely white it is possible to use it but very annoying and the left side of the screen if i use an app then it fades slowly if i type or try to do something so i can kinda read the right side of the screen but it is very hard i tried white on black and black on white which helped a bit i could see the screen a itsy bitsy bit better. but i am still extremely dramatized cause it took me half a year to earn it and took half a second to fall out of my coat and break. the screen is not cracked and the only outside appearence is the dent and if you look closely when it is off you can see the blob slightly , the blob kinda looks like well around the edges at least kinda like those oil things in puddles how its rainbowy shiny what ever but please help.also i tried restarting it and every else i can think of.

Dropping the iPod caused permentent damage to the iPod. Apple may be able to replace the iPod for $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity of the iPod. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

im gonna take it to there soon my dad said that it might be fixable but the problem is that idk if it would actually be cheaper to get a new one also its an 8g and had like 3.9 gs yet to be filled thanks though

ok wait what? replacements for what? and what about a blob that was random you put there

this is my ipod which i told you about and again it was perfect until it slipped out of my coat on the floor and dented making the black spot you see there oh and do be reminded that this is kinda mirror imaged...somehow...oh not the screen just this photo so like um i dont know but just know this isnt correct and the way you would see it if you were holding it.

It's a sick device. Sorry. WHat you have is 'accidental damage' and it's not covered under Apple's warranty. You can take it into your local apple store and get a quote on getting it fixed (please bear in mind 'fixing' is usually 'we'll charge you a prorated fee to exchange your device for a new or refurbished one')...things like that are not easily fixed. It usually needs to go back to the factory to be salvaged.

oh i see... thats ok i guess i mean do you think that it would be cheaper or more expensive to do the prorated fee to exchange it or to buy a new one the one i have, the broken one is 8gb 4g. also i would probaly want to exchange with a new one because this is my second BECAUSE the first one was refurbished and the camera wouldnt flip i tried everything(restarting,rebooting, restoring etc) that didnt help so because it was stil under warrenty we traded it in for a new one because it wasnt my fault. we're setting an appointment up with the apple store today i think. thanks a lot though. oh and i think the main problem is the dent in the side by the volume buttons because the black glob is around that dent so i think that the dent probaly pushed up into some kind of part of the screen and messed it up because other than that sound and apps work perfectly prob a screen issue.

on my ipod touch 4g the screen will be distorted with rainbow colours when force is applyed, its done this since the first day iv had it so its probably normal, i would assume the dent is pushing on the screen from the other side, you could probably dissasemble it and pound out the dent. That could fix the screen. If not i would buy a replacement screen from ebay. It would be ALLOT cheaper than anything apple will do.

GOD i did pretty much the same think , idropped mine on a chair nd it dented on the lower volume button and at first there was this crack on the screen like a smurf punched the volume button nd left a crater. After i touched the crack a little bit freaking out, the whole screen went white with a small black spot( like the one on yours, but ALOT smaller) after a little while , like 10 min in my pocket, i could see the top of the screen normally(enough to see the time and date while its locked, but the spot is still there nd the rest of the screen is really white. i can make out things easier on the right side, but everything on the left is bright and distorted as if the loer part of the screen was cut in half nd the left side slid down.
But anyways i dont think we can fix this , ive tried pushing out the dent nd now my ipod just has seisures( the screen flashes like a strobe light as it goes from white and distorted to normal nd back)

Might just hav to pay the $99 for apple to replace/repair it

This also happened to mine but i stepped on it with my soccer shoes and it has a bigger black cirle and i can see through the side in the ipod. how can i fix this?
