itunes 10.5.3 won't install on my windows 7 64 bit

it says "Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose tools > download only and try installing manually" if I try to upgrade from itunes 10.3.1


if i try to install the latest version of itunes 10.5.3 then it says "An error occurred during the installation of assembly ‘microsoft.VC80.CRT.type=”win32”,version=”8.0.50727.6195”.publicKeyToken=”1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b”.processorArchitecture=”x86”’. Please refer to help and support for more information. HRESTULT: 0x800736FD"


i have tried to reinstall itunes and turned off my firewall


can someone please help?


also with itunes 10.3.1 my iPod Touch 4g stopped syncing recently because it demands the upgrade therefore i NEED the upgrade to work


my ipod touch 4gs are from august 2011 and january 2012 (both refuse to sync)

iPod touch (4th generation), Windows 7

it says "to run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v4.0.30319

Contact your application publisher for instruction about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework."


additionally, i have microsoft .NET framework 4 Client Profile and microsoft .NET framework 4 extended installed alreading in my computer
