how do I rename my network?

I need to rename my wifi network using Time Capsule. It's currently named w/my actual name and I don't want people in the neighborhood knowing it is my

wireless network. How do I do this?

Open airport utility.. manual setup, on the landing page, locate the sub menu, wireless.. second item, wireless network name.

If you are using Lion with airport utiity 6 download 5.6 if the functions you want are missing.. Apple decided people didn't need all kinds of functions in the new utility so now instead of one they have two.. one pretty face and one that actually works.

If you have not already done so, please download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6

Click Manual Setup

Click the Wireless tab located just below the row of icons

Edit the Wireless Network Name as you wish

Click Update at the lower right of the window to save your changes and allow 25-30 seconds for the router to fully restart
