I have a 5th gen ipod classic and it won't sync up to my mac mini. I'm running iTunes 9 and my os is 10.4.11. Thanks in advance.

Why doesn't it sync? Error messages? Does the iPod even appear in iTunes? What have you tried in terms of troubleshooting so far?

Don't know why it doesn't sync. No error messages at all, nothing. Was looking for something that I might have set wrong. The iPod does not appear in iTunes or on the desktop. The music on it is from a PC. I've followed all the suggestions on the troubleshooting page.

I'm using a mac mini. Doesn't show up anywhere. Don't care about the music, Just want it to show uup so I can add my library. I got it from a friend.

Have you tried a different USB port and/or USB sync cable? What happens if you place the iPod into Disk Mode? Does it show up then?
