You can locate it as soon as somebody finds and charges it and connects it to the Internet/Wi-Fi.
iCloud: Troubleshooting Find My iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac
So there is no other way to find it don't the police have a tracking device or something ?
And what I'f the person resets it ? Will I still be able to locate it ?
There is no other way to track it, and if the device is getting restored, all apps will be removed as well.
All you can do is this: Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
No. And, honestly, they don't care. I know it's important to you, but it's just another person that lost an electronic device to them, and hundreds of people do that every day. If you have the serial number you can circulate that info to local pawn shops to see if they buy it...but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.
No. Find my iPad/iPod is worthless once the person 'restores as new' via iTunes. As I understand it, Find works on the name of the device, not its serial number. So as soon as they restore as new 'Ed's iPod' becomes 'Mary's iPod' and the find program no longer sees it.
The Find program can work if you....left your device at your friend's house and it's on his/her internet and it reminds you where it is. It is relatively useless to find stolen devices since it is very easily defeated.
Hope you get it back.
No, you can't track it. I tried the same, and I am still looking for mine. Unfortunately, I still have not found mine. Maybe you could send a report to Apple about your missing iPod?
what do you mean local pawn shops
how do i do that ?
