1) Device password
2) Wireless network password
If you have forgotten the password(s) you can reset the Time Capsule by performing a Soft Reset.

Feb 28, 2012 1:10 PM in response to Bob Timmonsby aidaa,Hi
This may be off topic, but I really need some help.
I have recently reinstalled my MBP, now worries since I have a backup on Timecapsule. The problem is I forgott the password. If I try to change the password through the AirPort Utility it ask me for the old password. Is there any way that I can change the password without resetting the timecapsule to factory settings?
I really don´t want to reset it to factory settings couse my only backup is there, is this possible to achive in any way?
Thankful for any help!

Feb 28, 2012 1:18 PM in response to aidaaby LaPastenague,You haven't read the reference Bob posted about reset.. there are 3 distinct levels of reset.. one to fix lost passwords.. hold the reset for 1sec.. all passwords are set to default for 5min.
You also don't change the backups or anything on the hard disk when you do a reset of any kind.. nothing is lost on the hard disk without a deliberate erase.
