Partitioned a drive and decided to re-install everything again. Install Lion 10.7 onto the drive open up App Store and try and download FCPX, Motion & Compressor and a warning comes up saying 'can't install because I haven't got 10.7.2 installed. Whats that all about? Do bear in mind that in the purchases section it also says that my FCPX 10.0.3 update is ready to download even though it isn't installed. This is paired with the fact at least 50% of my purchased Apps says they have already been installed. Really don't know what going on.

Mac OS X (10.7.2), MacPro, MBP, iPad 2, iPhone 4S

Marc..

Move all the files in bold print below to the Trash.

Quit the App Store if it's open.

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist

~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist

/LIbrary/Preferences/System Configuration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

Launch the App Store. See if that made a difference.

If that didn't work, try installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo)

Note, the first three are located in your user account, the last in HD>Libraary

Managed to run Disc Warrior now and it has found that the com.applestore.pliist file is corrupt and can't be fixed. I have previous taken the steps above and trashed that plist file so its come back damaged again. I have contacted Apple today and they suggested that I boot in Lion Recovery Mode and take it from there. Is that the best soultion here or shall I install the 10.7.3 combo and see if that fixes the issue.

I must say that the 10.7.3 update has been the worst update ever from Apple problems on both MBP and MacPro with numerous pieces of software. I really really apprehensive about Mountain Lion when Lion is miles from being stable.

Just to update on this situation. I have also run Disk Warrior on my MBP and it has also found that there are problems the Appstore files on this computer. It warned that 'Conversion of string failed. The string is empty' on the file 'MacHD/Users/usersname/Library/Cookies.

So with that in mind if I use the Lion Recovery facility to reinstall the damage Lion it will continually be damaged because I have a problem with my connectionto the Appstore??
