Question

Copying to External Harddrive...

Can anyone tell me why I can only read me external harddrive with my iBook and not copy anything to it?

It is not locked...

ibook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Hi Henrikdjensen,

What external hard drive do you have? Do you know what format it is? Are you trying to backup to it?

Select the hard disk in the Finder and choose Get Info from the File menu. If the disk's format is listed as Windows NT Filesystem or NTFS, you will need to use the Disk Utility in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to erase the drive before you can write anything to it.
