Disappearing messages

Why do I lose email messages?

I use me.com mail and occasionally a message from my inbox just disappears.

I can't find it in Trash or junk... it's just gone.

And it's gone on all my gadgets, iPhone, iPad and Mac.

This just happened again today: A message I received last night, was still there this morning but disappeared after lunch.

MacPro 2 x 3Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 6GB Ram, MacBook Pro 15.7,iBook, iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)
