reading list system problems spinning ball

The Reading List in Safari

At first it worked easily.

Now adding to the reading list creates the spinning ball, sometimes for up to 5 minutes

same for trying to remove items from the reading list. At this point it is useless to even use it.

anyone have a clue as to why this new feature creates the spinning ball, rendering safari useless until it finishes spinning?

This is just one of the many problems I have with Lion across all 3 systems on which it is installed.

Like many users, I am seriously considering going back to Snow Leopard. With all the bugs and performance problems

in Lion that have never been addressed, one can only wonder

what Mountain Lion will bring to the troubled os.

Anyway, I thought some of the readers might have some insight into reading list that I do not.

I am using MacBook Pro 17 inch, mid 2010, i7 processor w/8 gb ram.
