This link provides a full list of AirPrint (IOS) compatible printers. I did not see yours on the list but you may want to double check.
The 5220 is not AirPrint compatible but you can still print photos, documents, and scanned items using these free Canon Apps in the AppStore:
Pixma Print
Canon iEPP
There's also a commercial app called Print n Share that will let you print web pages from Safarirom Safari.
If the printer that is connected to a computer (laptop or desktop) Printopia (costs $20) that will enable airprinting from your iPhone/iPad by passing the printing through the computer itself.
