Help! Printer Icons "X"d Off & Do not work! How can I change Ports?

After a new migration to a new server compnay everything has gone to **** in a hand basket.

My newest small OS 9.1 issues is I cannot print. Both icons of the printers on the desktop have a large black "X" through them. I cannot print and I'am not computer savy enough to find out what has happened. Is it a connection or is it something that I can fix through the control panels?

Also I'am not having mail sending issues and need to change my outgoing ports. Can I change these ports through my OS? If so, where?

I'am rather lost with no solid computer geek friend (Just gaming ones like me) to help. This is roughly my last resort to all my issues before I move on fromm Apple.

Until more OS 9 knowledgeable folks get here..........

Open up your Extension Manager Control Panel & make sure all your printer extensions are enabled (checked).

Regarding your mail it would help if you would advise which email program you are using? To change the outgoing ports you would need to go into the email program preferences. The same if you are using a browser embedded email program.
In the meantime, I think you can also change the outgoing ports in the Control Panels>Internet>Web>Email.

Ok, I searched it and found that one little bugger was off! In order to click it on, it said I could not and had to duplictae the set.

But I clicked the triangle symbol which gives more info of the highlighted object, and it told me where this exact extension was (as in it's folder) and all I had to do was drag it's sorry tush from disabled to extensions. Will never know how it got in there!

Eudora Issues.

The mailbox issue is more of a bad catch 22. I have a old Eudora 5.0 and I have been told the new port number I should try. This 5.0 has a settings area but I cannot find anywhere the port settings. If anyone knows it would save my day.

I tried to download a new version of Eudora that is compatible with my 9.1 OS. This means I cannot buy the newest version (Runs only on OS X and gets me the tech support which I need).

I downloaded 2-3 versions and each cannot open and crashes with a Type 3 error. I downloaded them individually without downloading it over my original 5.0 mailbox. Is this one of the issues that may be causing the crash?

I also can open my 5.0 (which did get updated a small bit which confuses me but it still states 5.0 in start up). When it opens a pop up appears stating

"Translator Initializaton Failed, Consult Translator Document" about 3 -4 times. Then it crashes to the Type 3 Error. There is a {7.0} and a option "?" button which I clicked but failed to bring up the old help page on the qualcomm webpage.

Overall it is how to get a new Eudora 6.0.1 or anything OS 9.1 to open with my original ailbox.....

or to find that port settings area!

Glad to hear your printer problem is solved.

Sorry I have never used Eudora. However, you do need to update the program for it to be compatable w/your current OS system to avoid problems.

Type 3 error is a memory error. You will need to increase Eudora's preferred memory.

After doing the above see if rebuilding your desktop gets rid of the "Translator Initializaton Failed" error.
