I stupidly didn't use my iPad for months and now it won't charge up. Help me?

Naturally, it's been sitting on the charger for an hour with no activity. Will not power up at all. I've done this before and eventually, the iPad turns on. This time is different. While my iPod has been sitting here for even longer without me charging it, it powered on relatively quickly after being attached to a power source. No luck for my iPad. Do I need to take it in for a battery change? I rarely use it and hate to have to do that, but I fear my lack of use has caused it to die for good without a new battery.

My iPad charger has small light grey writing on it that says 10W - iPod and iPhone chargers are 5W.

You know, it's funny you mention that. I have two chargers--one for my iPod Touch (first gen), as well as one for my iPad (also first generation). Now, I notice that one charger is larger than the other...you know, the square base. Do you have any idea which is which? Because I'm curious to see if I'm charging the iPad with the iPod charger instead, which may be the whole reason why I'm having issues.
