Q: We have a new apple TV 2 we are 20ft away in other room with my Imac & airport express and I am unable to stream a 600 file movie  without it stopping ever 10 mins  please help

We have a apple TV2 20Ft away from our HDTV in other room  with my Imac

   Streaming from itunes a 600m file it stops every 5 mins and we are waiting for it to catch up

  ???????

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

     

    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.

     

    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.

     

    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

     

    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.
