Macbook Pro 13in turns off immediately after plugging in a USB cord

Hello everybody,

my Macbook Pro 13 (2011) turns off immediately after plugging in an iPhone USB cord. It does it only with the iPhone USB cord (not with the one for Kindle for example), because I have tried two different iPhone cords and the result was the same - Macbook turned off. Moreover, only one USB port out of two does it (one closer to the headphones minijack). My Macbook has never done it before and I find it very odd, it just turns off whenever I plug in the cable.

Do you have any suggestions how to solve this?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

You would have to take it apart and pull the battery (which voids ur warranty, so if u are not a total DIY like me, go please take it to an apple store!!) This happened to me when I stuck a diode in the USB port as well as when I stuck a mini-usb cable in the fire-wire port, although somehow, the computer turned on when I stuck it back in!? I wish the computers had a reset button that u stick a paper clip in, sounds like that would be better then unscrewing 10 screws!
