Bad Airplay Connection

My Ipad will not display on my tv. i turn on the airplay and all i get is a black screen. Help!!

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Are you trying to use airplay or the mirroring function?

I am having trouble with airplay mirroring. Tried rebooting and upgrading. Nothing works.

So just to clarify, you've enabled airplay on ATV (and ensured it is running the latest firmware). Toggled ON mirroring on the iPad2. Then your TV is displaying a black screen?
