Q: getting an internet connection throughout my house...

currently, in a 6000 square foot house, the signal only reaches 1/2 of the house. it won't work in my dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, family room, or garage. is there a way to fix the problem? I know that I was unable to connect a second wireless router to my AT&T modem (because I tried that upon installing it). any solutions would be great! thanks

First, is your home pre-wired for Ethernet? If so, you can configure a number of wireless routers/wireless access points into a roaming network to cover the entire house.

If it is not, then you still have a couple other options to consider: 1) Use Powerline adapters. These adapters take advantage of your home's electrical circuit to create a pseudo Ethernet one. You can then use this configuration for a roaming network, or 2) Use multiple AirPort base stations to create an extended wireless network.

when the house was being remodeled, the contractors managed to install Telephone Jacks throughout the house instead of ethernet, so thats been the main issue thus far. I'll try to look into getting the powerline equipment. thanks.
