MacBook internet sharing not working!

Hello,

Basically, I would like to share the internet that my MacBook recieves (via Ethernet) with my iPhone over WIFI.

I have read in many places that you can do this through system preferences by turning internet sharing on etc.

This doesn't seem to work! I have done everything correctly (as far as I know) and nothing shows up on the iPhone.

I have also tried "Creating a network". This time, the option to connect to my MacBook is there, but the phone does not recieve internet from the MacBook.

I am running OS X Lion.

Can anyone help?!

Thanks, Oscar

I'm sure you have gone through these steps:

  1. Open up System Preferences.
  2. Now, open up Sharing.
  3. From the left hand side, select Internet Sharing.
4. Confirm the sharing options on the right hand side for your requirements.
  5. On the left hand sie, tick Internet Sharing.
  6. A confirmation box will display – click Start to begin sharing.
  7. To stop sharing, untick Internet Sharing on the left hand side.

Try adding a password too to see if it helps.
