Q: My son's iPod Classic was stolen. In order to retrieve it from Evidence, I have been asked to supply the serial number. I tried following the instructions on iPod Help, but do not have a Settings option. How do I retrieve this iPod data from my iTunes?

When I access my account, it shows only my nano as registered with Apple, which I don't even know what that means. When I have connected my son's iPod to my laptop in the past, it is recognized and synced automatically, so I am certain the data is in my computer, I just can't seem to access it.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't. You'll need to get the iPod's serial number using any of the methods in this Apple support document.

Or if you registered the iPod, you can view the item in your list of registered products and get the number that way.
