Quick time freezing

I am having trouble playing a tv show I purchased using quick time. When I double click to play it quick time opens and after a minute or so of the black screen a second or two will play and then the program becomes unresponsive. I have made sure I have the current versions of both Itunes & quick time.

Any ideas??
