Whenever I use my headphones the moment I take them out I can't control the volume, whether it be by the keyboard shortcuts or the volume control at the toolbar on top. The headphone port on the side doesn't glow red or anything and the only way I can fix this is to restart my computer.
Please if you know whats going on help me

Have you tried resetting PRAM ?

Few have solved this problem with PRAM reset.

It didn't work whenever i reset/restart it the volume controls work fine, when I plug in headphones they work fine, but the moment I take the headphones out the buttons stop working all together whether the headphones are pluged in or not.
Here's a fix that i found out:
sudo killall coreaudiod
Works ok after that.
