Final Cut Pro X - Cutting Clips Creates Gap In Timeline

When I am editing in the timeline and cut clips and delete part of a clip out, instead of the magnetic timeline reorganizing the clips, it creates the really annoying gap. When I first installed Final Cut Pro X, it didn't do this. Now with all the updates they've done recently it is. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? I have used the preference manager to reset all settings in Final Cut.

I just figured it out. I was using the delete key by the home and end keys and that creates the gap. When I use the big delete key (backspace) it does the ripple delete that I'm looking for. I can't believe it was so simple!
