FaceTime camera issues

Check these in this suggested order:

(0) Restart Mac and see if the problem is resolved.

(1) Most likely: add as much bright, single source light as possible.

Then test to see if the problem goes away.

If you are in a dark place, the colors of your display's light effects camera more.

(2) If you are using any Photo Booth or iChat "Effects" with your camera,

click the "Normal" setting to see if your problem disappears.

(3) If you have added iGlasses software to your Mac, check its settings.

(4) Try all relevant suggestions for built-in iSight from Apple's

(The suggestions for built-in iSight also apply to your FaceTime camera.)

(5) If the Troubleshooting suggestions don't help, use Disk Utility to repair permissions.

Then download and apply the latest Combo Update for your Mac OS.

(You don't say which OS X version you use, so I could not post a specific link.)

Repair permissions again immediately following the restart that finishes the Combo.

(6) Properly applying the Combo version of updates can correct some software problems.

However, there are no user serviceable parts of iSight. For hardware help,

contact an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.
