I can't get Numbers spreadsheets to upload to Google Docs

Whenever I make a Numbers spreadsheet in my MBA OSX Lion and try to upload it to Google Docs, I get an error message.

I've tried making an Excel Copy and uploading that also.

I have the 'Conversion On' switch in G also but I just get a generic error message " The uploaded file could not be uploaded ".

Even very basic test.xls files fail.

Something simple which I am missing ?

OpenOffice in Linux or Excel in Win work fine.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

I was successful so I am including what I didf only to see if there are any differences. You clearly know how to upload since you were able to complete process in Windows and Linux.

I did the following:

1) made a simple single table:

User uploaded file

2) Export to Excel using the menu item "File > Export":

User uploaded file

The selected Excel in the Dialog:

User uploaded file

3) saved on Desktop (or where ever you like):

4) logged into Google and went to Documents

5) Click the upload button:

User uploaded file

6) Navigate to my file and select

7) I used the following Upload settings:

User uploaded file

That's it
