Invalid IP address

I am setting up a time capsule Gen 4, with a PC and go through all the assisted windows. I want it to work like a router for my home network. The system always comes back with invalid IP address, so I can't get on the internet. Does someone know how I cant correct this?

Is the modem also a router?

If it is a router then the TC should be bridged.. and the IP will be picked up from the modem.

To use the TC as router, you must figure out how to avoid double NAT.. either bridge the modem and use pppoe client in the TC or use like DMZ in the modem or half-bridge.. these are often the same thing.

If all of this doesn't work.. make sure everything is turned off and restart, modem.. router.. computers. Wait 2min between each one.. until the computers and other clients.

If you still have issues please tell us the IP that is having issues, plus what is the ip of the TC?? And all the other clients as well as the modem/router.
