Downloading Mac apps on Windows computers

The special education staff at my sons school is asking me how to purchase a $200 mac app to put on their windows computer. I told them they need to download a free application of Itunes according to their windows os, and then they can sync the purchased app to an ipad on their computer. Is that correct?

I have the MAC app, the Ipad and of course the MAC computer for my son, but I'm just trying to help someone who doesn't realize Apple is where it's at.

No.

Mac apps are for OS X-which cannot run on any computer but a Mac.

IOS runs on iPhones/iPads/iPod touches and cannot run Mac apps.

A Mac application will not work on a PC. Mac applications will not run on an iPad. iPads and Mac computers are different hardware platforms.

An IOS app from the app store for an ipad. How can I get it on a Windows Computer so they can backup their program to the computer once they've made changes on the Application Proloquo2Go.

If they have iTunes on their computer they can purchase the app from the app store and then sync it to their iPad. Or just connect to WiFi with the iPad and purchase the app in the app store directly on the iPad.
