I heard an uninstall and reinstall of itunes fixes the syncing problem of music from imac to iphone 4S.
I got to mission control and ttry and drag itunes to the trash but it doesn't go in?
There's not control panel for software uninstallation? So frustrating- please help!

Go the Applications folder and drag the iTunes.app into the trash. That's all you need to do with any app on the Mac. (Easier than that Control Panel thing on Windows 🙂. If you want to ensure you delete any related preference files with the app, suggest you use AppCleaner (you can download free here - http://appcleaner.en.softonic.com/mac .

Make sure you CLOSE iTunes before you try to drag to the trash.

Hi BOb, I have the same problem. But where do I find the applications folder? The only place I see i-tunes is in the mission control.
The Application Folder typically shows in the Finder Sidebar under 'Favorites' If it's not, go to yoru Finder Preferences and under the Sidebar tab, select (tick) Applications to be shown.
I found a way to sync without deleteing items on i-paad and phone. Transfer ALL i-tunes files (not just music) to new MAc anda it seems to work. Thanks for your help everyone
sorry this doesnt work for me. says it cant be done because it is required by OS X.
