Yes but its a fragile mouse and it may break and crack easily and from what Ive heard its tedious and has only a temporary fix. My solution (I had the same issue and I DID take mine apart, however it is very delicate and hard to open (esp if its a wireless one like mine) it didnt get me anywhere really it only gave me a temp fix for maybe a month or so and I dont even use it as much. So I got a Magic mouse and Im so glad I moved up in this world with it. Its so much more capable (using some third party apps such as Magic Prefs) than Apple makes it right out of the box, (the Magic Prefs app is free however) and FAR more reliable. My recommendation to you is to just ditch it. The Mighty Mouse was replaced with the Magic Mouse for a reason. The Magic Mouse hasnt had any issues that Ive heard of yet.

I use a Logitech B110 mouse. One tenth the price of an Apple mouse and works perfectly.

Apple needs a recycling bin at the end of their mouse production line, would save on packaging, shipping, & aggravation!

Funny though, my Puck still works... other than it doesn't know which way is up!
