My iplayer was working fine until last night. Tried to reinstall it but the only version isn't compatible with my ipod 😟 tried watching through safari on bbc website - which doesn't bother me - but it still won't work. It loads, page displays for programme, press play and nothing happens. HELP!
Have cleared history, cookies and cache. Turned off and on again. ...............
iPod touch, iOS 4.2
I also have the same problem, iPlayer stopped working from Safari a couple of days ago on my kids iPod Touch 2nd Gen (4.2.1) but works ok on my iPhone 4.
Restarting it and clearing the cache etc havent helped either. Does anyone have a fix/workaround?

I have asked BBC about this but haven't had a response. I don't understand why it has suddenly happened. My iOS hasn't changed this week, so why should it suddenly stop working? ðŸ˜
Just had a response from the BBC which incudes the following:
We are currently aware of browser streaming problems affecting iOS 4.2 and below devices including iPhone 3G and 2nd generation iPod Touch. The issue has been escalated to our mobile team and we will publish an announcement on our help site when more information becomes available:

I too have the problem with Safari/iPlayer (on my iPod Touch 3G). I downloaded the dedicated BBC iPlayer app - and that works just fine. 🙂
I was using the Iplayer app when this happened. Thought it was a problem with the app and tried to reinstall it BUT the present app does not work with OS4.2 so I no longer have the Iplayer app on my iPod :-(
