Convert text message to email App?

Hi, I've got a Verizon Iphone 4S 16GB and a 450 min voice plan and 2GB data plan. I do not have a text messaging plan. I'd like an app that will convert text messages to email. I believe it's unfair to charge for text messages when thay are data. I do not send/receive more than a dozen text messages a month.

If I get a good app that'll convert text messages to email messages. I'll be a happy camper. I d/ilTextPlus from the app store but deleted it because the terms of use and (lack of) privacy policy.

I'd like to join a group that is interested in advocating free text messages up to a point. I never come close to exceeding my 2GB data plan. text messages should be part of data plans.

I don't understand what you mean by convert text messages to e-mail messages. If you want to send an outgoing message to someone and you don't want to use SMS/MMS, just send an e-mail. As for incoming messages, there is nothing you can do to magically transform them into e-mail messages. If you don't have them completely blocked by your carrier, they will come through as SMS/MMS.

You can use Apple's iMessage service to text. This goes towards your data plan.

I was told the iMessage is only for use with other iPone users. Is that correct?

You can send a text via email with most carriers. For example, if you send an email to <mobilenumber>@vtext.com, that email will show up as a text on the Verzion Wireless customer's phone. AT&T and Sprint have similar addressing schemes.
