upgrade ram on imac

I want to upgrade the ram on my imac so it is capable of the change from Mac OS X 10.6.8 to snow leapard. Currently has 2 GB memory and I think this was a 1 GB upgrade when I purchased a bit less than 3 years ago. I've already upgraded the OS once. I need to go to snow leopard so that I can use icloud. How do I approach doing this please? Nick

2GB of memory is enough to run OS X Lion, which you can purchase in the Mac App Store.

If you want to upgrade further, then go into your system settings, click on memory and thenyou should see a Button with "Memory upgrade instructions.

You can also look in your booklet that came with your mac called "everything else"

IMPORTANT: If you do anything wrong, you could loose your Warranty!

thanks guys, I am in Australia, bought the computer in March 2009 from Apple store in Sydney, great to know it's an early 2008 model!! Now I need to figure where to buy the upgrade.... Any views on whether running Lion will make life easier or less Mac-like? All I want is to retain my nice seamless email account @me.com and have it sync with my iphone and possibly soon an ipad.

Both OWC and Crucial are highly recommended RAM suppliers here in the forum. I would compare there prices plus the shipping cost to see if it is still not a better deal than shopping around locally.

Unfortunately I can not answer your Lion, iCloud or @me.com questions, because I do not use or require those service for syncing my computers, iPad or other devices.

Your best bet is to pop over in the Lion, iCloud or MobilMe sections of the forum and ask around there.
