HI,
If you are using OS 10.5.2 as you say in your specs you must have removed it.
Most likely this is from the DOCK only and you should find it in the Applictaions Folder
If it is not there then Check with Spotlight.

If you installed Messages, that could be it. Messages deletes iChat after it's installed.I noticed that when I got Messages on my MacBook Pro.
Messages can't be installed on OS 10.5.x which is why I mentioned his Specs and left the Messages part out.

The post from Joshua from Waterford is correct. You can install a beta of iMessage, but if you do it removes iChat. The beta of iMessage does not include video chat, however.
The app is called Messages.
It can do iMessages to iPhones, Apple IDs on Phones, iPads and iPod Touches and other Macs.
Whilst it does not do Video to iMesages contacts it does give your access to FaceTime (if they use the same ID with FaceTime.
The previous Buddy List that iChat had are still there and these still show the iChat Video iCons for Connecting (As well as the Menu items having the same options - mainly the Buddies Menu and the right click a Buddy option).
Tio be clear, Messages is built on the iChat engine.
iChat in Lion was at verion 6.0.1 with the OS 10.7.3 update
Messages is listed as being Version 6.1 (Already)
Crash Logs still call the app iChat.
