I am unable to get my mail all of a sudden nothing has changed in my account when i ask to get new mail a pop up window appears saying the mobileme IMAP "mail.mac.com" rejected the password for user ...i re enter my password and nothing happens! help

I am unable to retrieve my amil all of a sudden. Nothing has changed in my account settings. When i attempt to get new mail, a pop up window appears and says:

the mobileme IMAP server ",mail.mac.com" rejected your password....

I re-enter my password and NOTHING happens.

also mail doctor says cannot connect to this mobileme IMAP server

what the heck does this mean???

Hello, I think they're slowly nudging people to switch, .mac & MobileMe are going away about July, may as well set it up now.


I understand .mac mail will still come through.


iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...

IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:

▪Server name: imap.mail.me.com

▪SSL Required: Yes

▪Port: 993

Username: example@me.com (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)

▪Password: Your iCloud password

SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:

▪Server name: smtp.mail.me.com

▪SSL Required: Yes

▪Port: 587

▪SMTP Authentication Required: Yes

Username: example@me.com (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)

▪Password: Your iCloud password
