some songs won't play on my ipod

What happens if you reset your iPod? To do this, first make sure the hold switch is in the OFF position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

If that doesn't work, what format are these tracks in? Do they play okay in iTunes? Perhaps you can work through all of the suggestions in this Apple support document.

I have the same issue. The songs play just fine on my iphone and ipad, but not on the 4th gen ipod nano. The music was downloaded from itunes and i took the nano into the Apple store for a reset and that did not help.

By a reset, do you mean restore to factory settings? If so, it may indicate a hardware issue.
