Does keeping brightness on max shorten screen life?

Thanks to its vivid image I like the screen bright on my 15" 2010 macbookpro. but I wonder, in the long run does it shorten the computer's lifespan?

should I stay 3 clicks away from the maximum setting for example? just curious what the consensus is on this, if there is one

One of the advantages of LED backlighting over the old CCFL backlighting is very little or no visible change in color or brightness over the likely useful lifespan of your computer. Setting the brightness at maximum shouldn't affect the LEDs' longevity, but it will dramatically reduce your run time on a battery charge.
