When I open my finder I see this. Kodak is my printer. owner-pc is my husband's computer. I can't figure out what the ek942a3cc9 is. When I double click on it, it says connection failed. I can't get any information on it. Is this a virus? How do I block this sharing? I have reset all routers and closed guest access. Please advise.

It may be the partial MAC address of owner-pc. In any case, you can disable File Sharing in Sys Prefs > Sharing.
Disconnect or turn off the printer. Does the unknown item go away?
the trick is owner-pc is not online. That computer is currently is another state and not logged on to anything yet the ek942a3cc9 is still showing up as sharing my computer.
Tried that yesterday. No luck. It only goes away when I shut down the computer completely. About 15-20 minutes after turning the computer back on it shows back up.
It's a Bonjour server of some kind on your network. Could be one of your devices, or, if you're on a wireless network, a neighbor's. Is your network secured with WPA?
My network is secured via WPA and there has been a recent reset with a new password and it's still there. Could it be my TIVO?
I don't know. Turn off the Tivo and see if it goes away.

Highly unlikely.
The likeliest explanation is that it's a Remembrance of Things Past… That is, it's a server on a network to which you connected at some time in the past -- at the office, at Starbucks, at the airport, whatever. The OS kept it in a cache just in case you might re-connect. If you don't switch networks often, it can stay there for some time.
In the Sidebar, do you see an Eject button (⏏) to its right? If yes, click it, and it shouldn't re-appear. It might also help to go to Finder > Connect to Server… and, from the Recent Servers menu (identified by a clock icon), choose Clear Recent Servers…

If there is a computer on your network you should be able to look in the status of your rounter and see ALL clients (wired and wireless). That's where I would start. Do you know how to get the status of your router?

Knowing what kind of router will help identify how to get the status (Is it an airport Extreme, D-Link, Cisco, etc.).
