I have a 6 month old iPod touch 4th gen. When I try to restore it using iTunes 10.5.3 on a brand new Mac Book Air 13inch, it comes up with an error code of 21, and leves my iPod in recovery mode. I have been able to get it out. I have tried to Reset it on the device it self, but the little 'spinner' that comes up when you turn off comes up and stays there and does nothing.

I also experienced this problem after trying to restore my iPhone to factory settings after using "third party" software.
I restored using another computer then uninstalled / re-installed iTunes on my original computer and restored from the backup on the original.
All is well now!
Do you hav another computer to try to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem?
An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store may be in order.

Do you have antivirus on your Mac?
No I dont have firewall enabled and dont have eny other Antivirus installed.
