Need to change bold font on Safari 4.1.3

Recently replaced my internal hard drive and had to re-download and update everything... Forgot which version of Safari I had before with my OS X 10.4.11, so I got Safari v4.1.3... It works great, but I know the bold fonts were never THIS bold. Here is what I'm currently looking at:

I tried selecting "Never use font sizes smaller than 9", and I even tried "Empty Cache" as well as "Reset Safari...", but it's still ridiculously bold.

Installed one new font since updating Safari, and installed Adobe Flash Player last night.

Just tried "Never use font sizes smaller than 14" and it's still that weird bold font, just bigger.

I'm not sure if I had a CSS before... My hard drive just died on me, that's why I had to replace it. I didn't get to make any note of how I had things set before.

Safe Boot is not going to solve your problem. You need to go to Safari's Preferences>Appearance panel and select the font(s) you want to use. You have a wide variety of choices, including Regular (Plain), Italic, Bold, and Bold-Italic.

If you want to prevent this kind of thing from happening again, you need to invest in an external hard drive to use as a backup of your entire hard drive, and update it on a daily basis. You can use SuperDuper ($27.95) or Carbon Copy Cloner (donationware) for this. The backup is fully bootable, so if you ever have to replace your internal hard drive again (and you eventually will), you can just boot from the backup and copy everything over to the new hard drive.
