Itunes 10.5 cannot find any songs in my library.

I have not moved any of the files. All of a sudden it can not locate the files. Is there a way to globally assign the correct location, instead of going track by track and repathing?

Have you added a device that caused the drive letters to change? If so, you can remap the drive letters back to what they once were so that the existing iTunes pathing will work once again.

Find out what drive the iTunes library is on. Now determine what the pathing that iTunes is expecting.

Right Click on My Computer on the Desktop. Select MANAGE. Then under STORAGE select DISK MANAGEMENT. From there you can re-assign drive letters.

Let's say that iTunes is looking for the llibrary on drive E but for some reason Drive E: is now a DVD drive. The Library is on Drive F:. Re-assign the DVD drive to say Drive M, This will free up the letter E. Now change the F drive that has the library to Drive E. Now goback and make the DVD drive drive F.

Now this might screw up some other application but it should make iTunes happy.

Good luck!

Are there an Exclamation(s) precede the music name(s)?

If so, double click a song with ! mark on side, you will be given an option to locate the file where the song is held. If so select "locate" and direct it to the folder / file where the song is and open it.
iTunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will do it automatically instead of doing them one by one.

I hope this helps.
