How can I group photos into separate albums?

For photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process, this is done with the photos on your computer where the photos should already by in seperate albums or folders based on event, etc.

If you manually manage photo storage on your computer, create a parent folder to store the named folders of photos you want transferred to your iPad. Place the named folders of photos in this parent folder that you want transferred to your iPad. Select this parent folder under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync. All folders of photos in the parent folder will be transferred to your iPad as seperate albums.

To add additional photos to your iPad, create a folder for the new photos and place the new folder of photos in the parent folder followed by a sync. To remove a folder of photos from your iPad, move the folder of photos out of the parent folder on your computer followed by a sync.

You can do this on the iPad itself in iOS 5, however you are merely adding a copy of the photo into a new album and not moving the photo itself.

To create a new album, simply go into the default Camera Roll album or any other album. Tap the arrow button on the top right corner of the screen. Select the photos you wish to include in the new album. Then tap the “Add to” button at the bottom of the screen. Choose to add photos to a new album or an existing one. After you choose a name for a new album, you are done!

This article says that the "add to" button is at the bottom of the screen, but on the iPad it is at the top in the right corner.

Here is the method...

1-Tap on "Photos" on home screen

2-Tap on camera roll (may be you are already in camera roll)

3-Look at top right, you will found one arrow point out of the rectangle, tap on that

4-It will show "Select Items" now select as many pictures you want to select...

5-Look at the top right corner, you will see "Add to" tap on that

6-Add new album

7-Enter the title for new Album

8-tap on save

9-you are done...🙂

3. Select photos you wish to add to new folder

4. Tap Add To...

5. Select Add To New Folder
