i gained iphone 4s from my friend in united states and i lived in brazil so when i updated software of iphone it became locked and im trying to unlock and i cant , what should i do?

Only the original carrier can unlock the phone. American carriers typically don't offer that function (aside of needing to be in US to have it done).
but im lived in brazil !!! , any other solution??? i dont even know what is original carrier , shall i buy something to unlock it?
There's nothing to buy. It's just the way unlocking works. Sorry.
You are stuck with it. The carrier does not offer unlocking. Perhaps you can sell it and buy one that is either unlocked, or a phone on contract with a Brazillian carrier.
