my screen wont register that i touch it. help?

i spilt orange juice on my ipod. i immediately wiped it off and put in rice. later i was advised to put it in the freezer so i did. the buttons work fine, when i click the home button to unlock it it will light up, but it's like the screen isnt registering that im touching it. it has revious water damage and i recetly had the cracked screen replaced. help?
