I tried restarting the AMDS (because my ipod touch wasn't registering), and everything was going smoothly until I tried to reinstall itunes, and every time it says there's an error installing. I have no idea what's wrong, I have OS X 10.6.8 and this is the first actual problem I've had with it.

Can I ask why you have to "reinstall" iTunes? Apps like iTunes are so integrated within OSX removing them can be problematic.
At any rate, this is a forum for MacBook Pro Hardware. You should take your question to the iTunes for Mac forum.
After trying pretty much everything I could, I resorted to remove and restart the AMDS, and followed the instructions on here and that told me to uninstall and reinsert itunes.
