Iphone 4 incoming and outgoing call problem

my iphone 4 version is on ios 5.0.1 my problem is i can make outgoing calls but i cannot hear a ring from my phone although my contact says i called them and when i end the call it freezes on "calling" , i tried it several times on different contacts same thing happens over and over even if i reboot or reboot holding sleep/power buttons the problem seems to be the same. Another problem is if my contact is calling me, my iphone does not ring nor vibrates on silent mode although my contact says my phone is ringing throughout. My only solution is restoring my iphone but the problem seems to come back once in a while.

Hi, I have Iphone 4s and have similar problems. For outgoing calls I tap speaker twice and then I can hear caller on ear speaker, otherwise I hear nothing!! I also get very annoyed when I don't hear an incoming call and then have to pick it up on voicemail!! Very disappointed with this phone, wish i never bought it after only 2 weeks.

Maybe it's a problem with currupted contacts.

Try to delete all your contacts, soft-reset the phone and then try to make a "manual" call.

If the problem disappear, you have some corrupted contacts. So you don't have to sync again, but create every contact one by one...

Did you delete all your contacts before?

If not, even if you manual dial the phone still search for a stored contact.

My new iphone 4s has same problem, I bought in last month. Problem is when i make outgoing calls there no ring from my phone, but my contact says he is receive my call. And when my contct call me, the iphone haven't any action to show this call. My ios is ios 5.0.1.

I have the same problem!
In the last 2 weeks, my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) got useless as phone at least 3 times, and usually for a whole day! All of sudden it gets back to work, and then it crashes again...
I don't know what to do anymore! I´ve already reached the provider, but they say that the problem is in the phone!

Same thing happened to mine and the girlfriends phones two days ago, we had both copied contacts from the sim card and then had problems. Only way we could fix it was to restore the phones on iTunes.
