When composing an E Mail using Mail how do I set the viewable text size. It always starts up very small even though preferences have been set to 12 pt or larger. 'cmd +' does not alter the view sizing either.
I have OSX 10.7.3 on an iMac.
Regarding the size of the text within the e-mail you are composing, click in the email where you want to type, set the text size, and then begin to type.
Thanks this does work but I was hoping to change the default setting instead of changing it for each mail.
go to Mail>Settings>Font&Color
We're getting there, how do I make it accept the input in the select box? This may seem a bit basic but I'm new to Apple having recently moved from the world of MS.
Just select the desired size in the "Fonts" window. You should see the change immediately in the preference panel.
On my Mac it looks like this:
Then I click "Auswählen":
Here I can choose my favorite settings.
That is what I have been doing but it does not accept the change.
I just noticed that you say you are using OS 10.7.3 (Lion). This is the Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.x) forum.
There may be something different about this setting in Lion's Mail app, so you may want to repost your question in the Lion forum.
Make a reboot and try it again.
Thanks to all for your help. The restart of Mail then allowed the changes to take place.
