struggling to wake my apple tv wont respond even when holding the menu and down button any ideas ?

Me too!! Tried everything recommended. Also tried a previous suggestion to hold Menu button and left key for 6 seconds...no avail...sad! I see the "Apple" Icon but no menu...

is the light flashing on the unit too? mine is doing this too, and nothing will reset/wake it.

Did you try unplugging the unit from power, leaving it for ten minutes, then plugging in again?
